Dauntsey Part Two

Dauntsey Park is all done and dusted and the rain that was forecast for the second day didn’t materialise, so in the end it was a lovely day weather wise to be out competing. Neither too hot or too cold. We had 4 horses out again today. I was riding Tara in the novice and Jake and Donald in the 5 Year Old class.

Tara did a really nice dressage but unfortunately had 2 down in the showjumping, which is unusual for her. Round a difficult cross country she jumped a lovely clear. So overall I’m very pleased with her as she is gaining more experience and confidence.

Donald and Jake (pictured) were out again doing another BE100 in the 5 Year Old section and today was particularly satisfying because it was the first day that they didn’t feel like green youngsters. They both jumped double clear and the effort we’ve put into them is starting to pay off.

Noor (my Moroccan student) was out on her horse Cassinar in the BE100 and it’s lovely to see the partnership developing. Noor’s riding today was probably the best I’ve seen so it’s good to think that everything today was going in the right direction.

Only one day at home and then we’re out competing at Aston again so it’s a busy week. Hats off to Beanie and Rupert Sturgis for putting on such a good event and putting such a lot of effort into the ground. I will definitely be back.

Cheers,

Bill
