Jardy Roundup

Jardy was a very special for us, as it was Josh’s first international overseas doing the CCI2*-S with Tommy along with myself competing Alfie in the ERM and Quinn in the CCI3*-S.

It was a happy event for us and I couldn’t have been more pleased with how all the horses went. It is a great venue; they had worked really hard on the ground and the track was a typical Pierre Michellet course, built on forward distances with lots of accuracy questions at all levels

Josh equipped himself well: a solid dressage, one pole rolled show jumping and a good clear cross country in the time – it was a pretty emotional me at the finish as I was so proud of how he rode and it was lovely that Jenny and I could both be there with him.

Quinn jumped a super steady double clear in the three star. He’s a lovely young horse in the making and took everything in his stride at his first overseas event.

Alfie yet again was super in the ERM, doing a smart dressage to lie second after the first phase and he jumped superbly in both the show jumping and cross country – an error from me cost us a podium finish and the lead in the overall series as I made the wrong choice in a related distance show jumping and I caused us to have a rail – with the scores being so tight we ended up in the top ten but off the podium – we lie second in the series so all to play for as we move to Millstreet in a few weeks time.

So overall it was a happy time and I’m very proud of my horses (and son!)

Cheers,

Bill
