Gatcombe – Part Three

Bill Levett The rain came again on the final day at Gatcombe. It probably made the ground a little bit better but it also made it slippery. The plan today was always to just do the show jumping with Alfie, and as things turned out, very unlike Alfie, he had 3 down. After pondering it for a while, the only thing I can put it down to is the unevenness of the ground, because each of the fences he had, he had with his hind legs going downhill.

These competitions are always beneficial, even if sometimes they don’t go to plan, as it gives you lots of information which may be helpful in subsequent competitions. So that’s it for Alfie now until Blair where we can hopefully pull out a nice result in the CIC3*.

Cheers,

Bill
