Milton Keynes

Bill LevettIt’s not often you go to Milton Keynes and get really good ground, more often than not it’s on the firm side. However today the ground was excellent.

The day saw us take Gus and Sparkles out again, Sparkles doing his first novice and Gus doing another BE100. Gus led the dressage doing a really nice test but unfortunately had a few down show jumping – just green baby mistakes, busy spooking at the fillers. He did, though, give me a super ride cross country.

It’s not long and events will no longer run at Milton Keynes which is a bit sad as on and off I’ve been there for many different events over the years. Cross country in the novice was quite strong but Sparkles handled it very well and jumped a double clear. It looks like he’ll be a good horse to go up the grades which is exciting.

We took Blue along for the ride too, just to school him round and for three young horses they were very well behaved. As we drive home it’s quite wet but we were lucky at the event as it didn’t really rain all day. Tomorrow seems like one of the rare days at the moment where we don’t have to drive the lorry anywhere which is a nice feeling.

Cheers,

Bill
