SHANNONDALE TITAN (Alfie)
Alfie is a very striking and extremely tall 17.2hh, 9 year old bay gelding by Limmerick, and he belongs to the Prentice family. He came to us in mid 2010 having previously competed up to Intermediate level.
Alfie had early success placing second in the PAVO Young Horse Finals and has been well produced by Gemma Hall from a young horse. He is extremely light on his feet and very narrow, with impressive paces including a great walk. He also has a great length of stride and a good jump. He 
could be a ‘mega’ horse as he continues to strengthen up and grow in to his body.
I’m taking my time to get to know him as he’s a sensitive soul and I think it will take us a while to build a partnership and get to know one another. I think he has all the ability but it is about us building a partnership together and continuing with the training, building on the strong grounding he’s had to date.
In 2011 we did some intermediate runs and got our CCI** qualification under our belt at Blair Castle with a top ten placing. In 2012 the goal is to move up to advanced level with a continued focus on the dressage which he finds tougher than the other phases which come easily to him. The aim for 2012 will most likely be the 8/9 Year Old Championships at Blenheim.
Alfie has been selected for the Eventing Futures squad for 2012 by Equestrian Australia.
