I’m very excited as I’ve been given the opportunity to ride a lovely intermediate horse, one I’ve admired for a long time across the collecting ring. It’s not often that one gets these kind of opportunities and I want to do my best for the horse and myself to make the most of the opportunity. Sunny is a beautiful chestnut horse with bags of ability – jump and paces but he is sensitive and a bit quirky, and a big tall horse, athletic and powerful with plently of stride and movement. Â
My plan is to spend time getting to know him and not rush in to eventing him. He’s not been the most reliable at skinny fences so that is an area we need to work on. However outside of this blip he has been beautifully produced by his owner/rider to date – they’ve taken their time with him and at 11 years young he is ready to crack on with once we’ve built a partnership. Very exciting.
Cheers,
Bill
