Christmas Starts Early

It’s been a good weekend, and although Christmas in November feels a little weird I didn’t complain too much as it’s a chance for a little indulgence with good food and company.

The weekend started off well with a nice meal on Friday night with the Prentices at our local pub, the Ebrington Arms. The pub has undergone a transformation in the last few years and now has great food and seems to be going from strength to strength with a recent extension of space – good luck to them. Much fun was had and I seemed to cause much amusement – a huge quality, I say, being able to laugh at one’s self!

Saturday was the main event with Jenny’s family coming for an early Christmas as we will be in Oz for Christmas itself. Christmas for me is all the more fun with kids and we had plenty of them running about squealing with delight playing with one another which was great to see. The aga didn’t let us down and we all enjoyed delicious roast beef so all in all a good weekend.

I rode a few in the afternoon and did some chores around the yard to ensure I had a hearty appetite although Jenny would beg to differ: my timing was impeccable and I managed to finish just as dinner was about to be served!

The weekend was topped off by Josh playing in his first ever rugby match and scoring a try – a very proud dad was screaming on the touch line!

Cheers,

Bill
