Just back from a busy but enjoyable couple of days in Ireland.
I know you will think me biased as I’m on the selection panel but I do think the whole set up of the event works well. Good trial facilities and plenty of time to try the horses on the door step of the luxurious Monart Hotel and Spa. The sight of fellow eventers wandering around in dressing gowns takes some getting used to but it really is a lovely place to stay and only a two minute walk from the trial facilities.
The sun shone for two out of three days which always helps. The back up team for the sale did a great job, Marcus in particular who had pre vetted all the horses was very patient and meticulous with many a potential buyer.
Jenny and I had a good time. I was very amused that there was no wi-fi so for once I didn’t play second fiddle to her laptop! Bonus!!
Best of all we came home with a couple of exciting horses. We went with every intention of NOT buying anything but like kids in a sweet shop we couldn’t help ourselves.
