Gatcombe – Day One

Bill Levett and Improvise, Festival of British Eventing, Gatcombe 2014It was nice to have Alfie and Womble (pictured) out today at Gatcombe, and concentrate on their dressage. They aren’t in the Open but in the normal Advanced class and both did very nice performances in the dressage today. I felt they both did their best work so far this season.

I’m hoping for a bit of rain, which is forecast, and will wait to see what we’ll do after their showjump rounds tomorrow morning in terms of running cross country. There seems to be a nice buzz around Gatcome today, lots of good horses out and lots of chatter about the fast approaching World Games.

Josh came along today which was nice, although he did talk me into buying a lot of shortbread! Both he and Ursula have been trying their hands on the yard this summer, working with the girls and earning some pocket money which they are now keen to spend.

Tomorrow we are back with Silks doing his dressage and the jumping phases for Alfie and Womble, if we get some rain.

Cheers

Bill
