The first stop was Kilkenny, a real Mecca for Irish horses and at the end of scoring 40 3yr olds I think myself and my co judge came up with three lovely horses. It was great that my fellow judge Aiden Murry liked a similar type of horse.
Then this morning it was on the road heading to Clare for our next session. The qualifiers don’t start normally until 4 and then run into the evening until about 10 pm. On the way to Clare today I had a real treat, calling in on one of the oldest horse fairs in Ireland, what an eye opener. Every sort of horse under the sun was being traded, a real cultural experience and a world totally foreign to me.
I’m just about to leave for the next venue, it has been really enjoyable so far let’s a hope it continues.
Cheers,
Bill
