I’m driving back from Burghley feeling a little flat as the last day did not go according to plan. Although we had a great two first days unfortunately the show jumping phase ended up with us having five rails and dropping to 15th place. Because we ended up having a good couple of first days it is a hard pill to swallow.
On reflection he is still only very young and with all those rails he still managed to finish 15th so there’s lots to be positive about. And as we travel home we still seem to have a fit and healthy horse. So let’s be thankful for that and the fact that he went well in the first two phases.
